The parish house of the Roman Catholic Church in Baia Sprie was built in 1773 and is listed as a historical monument in Maramureș County. Above the entrance, between two upstairs windows, there is a semicircular white sundial marked with Roman numerals for the hours between 8 AM and 6 PM. Some specialists believe that, over time, the sundial may have undergone adjustments to its gnomon, and in the past, it might have also indicated the seasons.
